Dubai, THE UAE, April 03, 2016 —

D-Link Corporation, a global leader in connectivity solutions for small, medium and large enterprise business networking, has said its recent distributor meet that saw the company bring together more than 80 partners from the distribution from the Middle East and Africa (MEA) to Cape Town, South Africa was a success.

According to the vendor that makes solutions in the IP Surveillance, Wireless, Switching, Storage, Security, Cloud, VoIP, Print Servers, Structured Cabling, Digital Home, 3G/4G Routers, Power over Ethernet Kits, Powerline, KVM, Structured Cabling and Digital home offerings, it used the annual distributor gathering to outline growth strategies for 2016 and to prepare distribution partners for the products that will launch this year.

Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales and Marketing, D-Link Middle East and Africa (MEA), said every year, the company selects a destination where it assembles all its distributors to review the year that was and plan ahead.

Hussain said the gathering is very useful as it encourages distributors to share best practices and find solutions to problems that are commonplace in the MEA channel. “During the gathering, we were able to tackle wide ranging issues including the currency volatility especially in some countries in Africa,” he explained.

Hussain said despite the challenging economic environment in MEA, the company remains optimistic to grow its business in 2016 and beyond because it’s readying to launch new technologies. “We shared the product roadmap with our distributors and the feedback especially around our SMB push and initiatives was positive,” he said.

He added that D-Link and its entire distribution ecosystem in MEA agreed that specialisation was required in the channel to promote the consumer, SMB and telco business. “We will this year aim high and unlock opportunities in the SMB sector where we command a sizeable market share and most importantly develop our business in the telecoms space,” he said.
Hussain explained that despite a tough business climate, D-Link has continued to grow its business in MEA because it has a solid distribution partner network, where distributors are actively involved in developing and enabling the channel. “I want our distributors to prepare for the many products that we will launch during the course of the year,” he said.
